Typical beam end repairs consist of cutting away the decayed wood of the beam and then drilling through the sound wood, at an angle, from on top of the beam and into the bearing zone.
Stainless Steel threaded rods are placed in the drillings and grouted in place. This process is followed by pouring resin grout into the shuttering which fills all voids. The result is a bearing end of cured resin encapsulating reinforcing rods which anchor it to sound wood in the existing beam.
