Where large voids or loose rubble fill occur in masonry and the supporting ground, it may be desirable to inject cementitious grout to provide consolidation.
This can be done in many ways and with many different types of grouts; some grouts have been specially developed for use in historic structures, some that will gel when there is water present.
Careful choice and installation is always necessary.
