Occasionally the only solution to weakened or spreading masonry arches or vaults is to support them from below.
Careful measurements are taken of the curvature and these are transferred to a suitable steel section which is rolled to the exact profile.
The Profiled steel section is then installed beneath the arch and supported on suitable pillars or brackets secured to the masonry.
